This site is dedicated to the memory of Dee Haydon.

On Sunday 8th September 2013 my beautiful, amazing, brave mum passed away. She contracted Group B Streptococcal Meningitis which was so severe her body was unable to recover. Words cannot describe how absolutely devastated we all are and how much she is loved and missed. My mum was the kindest, most helpful individual you could ever meet and lived for her family. Right up until the end she was still helping others, when she donated her kidneys to help save the lives of 2 people. This page has been set up in memory of my mum. The aim is to increase awareness of meningitis and to raise as much money as possible to fund research into vaccines and other methods that will prevent this disease. At present there is no vaccine to protect against the UK's most common form of meningitis -Meningococcal Group B and Streptococcal Group B. Meningitis UK launched their Search 4 A Vaccine Campaign in 2007 and aims to raise £7 million to help fund cutting edge research into the development of a vaccination that will prevent Meningitis B. It was launched on the 4th day of the 4th month in order to highlight the fact that Meningitis can kill in just 4 hours. It is hoped that this target can be reached in the next few years. Every week 6 families face the sudden tragedy of losing a loved one to this devastating disease. This week my family was one of them. So please please please donate to this amazing charity and help me stop another family going through the pain that me and my family have had to go through. Thank you x I am hoping to reach a target of £3000 for Meningitis UK by the 4th July 2014 - My mums 43rd Birthday. In a few weeks time me, my family & friends will be organizing various charity events in the hope that we can reach our goal on time.
